St. Hyacinth Passing the Dnieper

According to a legend St. Hyacinth rescued the Eucharistic host and a statue of the Madonna and child when the Tartars attacked the Dominican priory in Kiev where he was saying Mass. He escaped his pursuers by miraculously walking across the waters of the River Dnieper, also known as the Boristene. This is one of the few images in which the host is contained in a ciborium rather than a monstrance.
